How does a pet photo session work?
So you’ve had a look at some of my work and are curious about how the session works.
Once your session has been booked, we will have a telephone discussion to talk through the actual photoshoot. In addition to location and timing, I’ll chat to you to understand your pet and their personality. This helps to give me an idea of some great tailor made shots that we can go for.
On the day:
On the day of the shoot, I’ll spend some time getting to know your pet and to give them space to get to know me, and thus reduce any stress and to feel comfortable. I’ll let them check out my equipment too, to ensure they’re happy with shutter sounds and unfamiliar smells or noises.
I always work with natural light, ensuring the composition is perfect and the features of your pet are brought out in each photo.
I am happy to come to your house or, if you prefer, we can do the pet photoshoot at a location near you that you and your dog are familiar with. If you are local to Godalming, I can always recommend some of my favourite spots too. Wherever the shoot takes place, I aim to make it as fun and relaxed as possible.
A pet photoshoot will last between one and two hours, with hundreds of images being taken during this time, ensuring you get some superb photos to cherish forever.
After the shoot:
Once the session is over, I will edit the photographs. This can take up to two weeks, although I always try to get them done sooner than this as I know you will want to see the finished results as soon as possible! I will then pop them into a special private password protected gallery and send you the link. The gallery is completely confidential and exclusively for you.
Alternatively, I can come and present the images in person. You can then start to decide which images you would like to purchase. I do also offer packages and bespoke products (eg acrylic prints, mounted prints and digital images), so please feel free to get in touch if you would like to arrange a consultation. I would be delighted to hear from you.
A standard session costs £99, which covers reasonable travelling time, the photoshoot on the day as discussed in the initial consultation, post session photo processing and the private viewing gallery which will contain between 25 and 30 images.
The products available to purchase are produced using leading edge professional printing partners, where colour calibration is done at least three times a day on equipment designed to reproduce images to the highest standards.
The photographs are of top quality, all of which ensure that your treasured images remain outstanding as the day you receive them.
